1. Lightning-fast rotation and egg-like shape
Haumea rotates faster than any other large body in the solar system: one day lasts less than four hours. This extreme spin distorts the body into an elongated ellipsoid — a shape unmistakably reminiscent of an egg or seed. The symbolic reading is immediate: apparent stillness masking intense internal activity. The subject seems patient, motionless, waiting — while an incessant process of analysis and evaluation unfolds within. The analogy is embryonic gestation.
2. Surface of almost pure crystalline ice
Haumea's surface is unusually bright — among the most reflective in the outer solar system — and undergoes continuous processes of resurfacing. This gives rise to the symbol of quality selection: either it passes or it does not, like the compatibility mechanisms that filter the seed. The crystalline surface also speaks of transparency, of exposure to light — the opposite of Pluto's concealment.
3. The collisional family
Haumea is the only known trans-Neptunian object to have generated, through an ancient impact, a family of fragments sharing its composition and orbital parameters — including two moons (in Hawaiian mythology, daughters born from different parts of the goddess's body). This is the symbol of generativity as lineage: it leaves a progeny rather than dispersing. It invests enormously in a few outcomes.

Symbolism
Haumea is Planet № 3 in the jabbah-project planetary numbering (1-Sun, 2-Eris, 3-Haumea, 4-Pluto, 5-Neptune, 6-Uranus, 7-Saturn, 8-Jupiter, 9-Mars, 10-Venus, 11-Mercury, 12-Moon). Its position is decisive: it comes immediately after 2-Eris (asexual reproduction) and immediately before 4-Pluto (the masculine self), of which it is the physical and symbolic opposite.
Haumea is the first of the four sexual planets (the others: Pluto, Mars, Venus) and represents the feminine self. Where Eris says “repeat identical”, Haumea says “choose”.

The four stations of the seed's custody
The four domiciles and exaltations of Haumea describe the complete arc of the custody of potential life, from the perspective of the one who receives and protects:
- Libra (secondary domicile): the selection of the best seed — discernment, quality.
- Sagittarius (primary exaltation): the welcoming of the seed into the earth-womb — protected germination, gestation.
- Taurus (primary domicile): reproduction fulfilled, dedication to offspring — life becoming vehicle of new life.
- Leo (secondary exaltation): the harvest, the ripe fruit, the abundance that crowns the cycle.
Select → receive → generate → harvest. Taurus is the primary seat because here the critical-selective acuity already exercised in Libra gives way to pure generative and protective dedication.

Haumea in the Houses
Because Haumea moves slowly through the zodiac, its position in a sign concerns entire generations and carries limited individual significance. The house position, aspects with other planets, and above all the relationship with Pluto (its direct opposite) are what matter in the individual birth chart.
- House I · exile The self is perceived as a gravitational centre — a person sought rather than a protagonist who bursts in. With good aspects: receptive dignity, magnetic calm, foundational authority. With stressed aspects: passivity experienced as powerlessness, identity built entirely on protecting others.
- House II · primary domicile The royal seat. Patient accumulation of quality; few but well-chosen durable possessions; money as a womb that is made to grow and passed down. With stressed aspects: possessiveness that stifles, paralysis in deciding where to put down roots.
- House III · exile Not wide networks: a few close bonds made total and lasting. Communicates by gravitation: speaks little, but those who seek it return. With stressed aspects: difficulty with lightness, selectivity that cuts too many people out.
- House IV · strong affinity The most consonant house. Vocation to build and guard the nest, to be the generative centre of the family. With stressed aspects: reluctance to expand, protection that becomes control.
- House V · secondary exaltation Fertility and the Leo harvest meet. Secure and joyful fecundity: desired children brought to maturity, capacity to generate works as well as people. With stressed aspects: selectivity as refusal of reproduction, frustration over offspring or works that do not meet expectations.
- House VI Quality selection applied to daily work: care, cultivation, stewardship, selection (agriculture, midwifery, conservation). Presides over reproductive health and regenerative processes.
- House VII · secondary domicile Second seat of strength. Selection of the bond: the partner chosen as the seed that will ensure the best lineage — with rigour, taste, foresight. With stressed aspects: chronic hesitation, criteria so high as to remain alone.
- House VIII · exile Pluto's house — exact opposite of Haumea. With good aspects: quality management where dispersal reigns, carefully guarded inheritance. With stressed aspects: difficulty with everything that requires letting go.
- House IX · primary exaltation Seat of maximum exaltation. Haumea here is the principle that receives and protects the seed in transformation: gestation as journey. A world-view centred on care, fertility, transmission. With stressed aspects: protective dogmatism, repressive puritanism.
- House X Haumea builds a success shaped like a womb — founding institutions, companies, “houses” that protect and help others grow. Realisation passes through generativity, not imposition.
- House XI Can choose not to generate, or to generate differently, channelling energy into elective projects and friendships: few real friends, chosen, lasting. With stressed aspects: frustration between generative instinct and its negation.
- House XII Haumea's containment principle has little to grip. With excellent aspects: vocation to protect the most defenceless, unconditional welcome beyond selection. With stressed aspects: sense of sterility or involuntary sacrifice, dissolution of the formative principle.

Aspects with Other Planets
For aspects with Uranus, Neptune, Eris, and Pluto — which last many years or decades — the houses involved in the individual chart are what matter most. The interpretations below refer primarily to tighter aspects with the inner planets.
Haumea - Sun
Harmonious: the vital self finds fullness in generating and seeing the fruit ripen. Generative trust, generosity in giving life and protecting.
Tense: vitalistic urgency (quantity) against patient selectivity; or personal affirmation held back by protective duty.
Haumea - Moon
Harmonious: the two femininities complete each other — receptive tenderness plus protective generativity; good for fertility and care.
Tense: conflict between the two mothers: lunar sensitivity (welcomes all) against Haumea's selectivity (chooses and cuts).
Haumea - Mercury
Harmonious: Mercury lends Haumea discernment — selection becomes lucid and well-reasoned; useful for selectors, curators, educators.
Tense: rapid dispersiveness conflicts with slow maturation; too many options against the single choice.
Haumea - Venus
Harmonious: among the happiest configurations for stable and fertile love — well-chosen loves made to last; warm, protective affection.
Tense: excess selectivity stiffens spontaneous affection; possessiveness; tension between pleasure and generative duty.
Haumea - Mars
Harmonious: Martian energy in service of protection and selection — strength that defends the nest and what one has chosen to nurture.
Tense: Mars cannot tolerate slow selectivity; conflict between action and gestation, conquest and care.
Haumea - Jupiter
Harmonious: the richest alliance — abundant and optimistic fecundity; the expansive force confirming the continuity of reproduction.
Tense: Jovian expansion (quantity) against selectivity (quality); smothering perfectionism.
Haumea - Saturn
Harmonious: excellent for anything requiring patient selection and durable construction; rigorous, long-maintained life choices; solid “maternal” institutions.
Tense: selective rigour becomes sterile harshness; prolonged difficulty in the generative or affective sphere.
Haumea - Pluto
The fundamental opposition. Harmonious: the best configuration for complete generativity — dispersing and selecting integrate. Balance between inner masculine and feminine.
Tense: masculine/feminine conflict becomes splitting; instability in reproductive and affective choices.
